Virginia Woolf spent her first twelve summers at Talland House in St Ives, where the garden became a vital source of inspiration, nurturing her development as a writer and providing a treasure trove of images and memories that she would later weave into her novels and memoirs. Having introduced plants from these back into the garden at Talland, they form the basis of the story of the significance of Talland and St Ives to the literary legend, bringing to life the lasting bond between place, memory and creativity.
