Artist Tom Leaper will speak about the St Ives Mariners Memorial, a major new bronze sculpture celebrating St Ives’ fishing heritage. Depicting two pilchard fishermen “Tucking the Net,” the work honours generations of fishermen and maritime trades that shaped the town’s history. Being unveiled this month on Smeaton’s Pier, the memorial stands as a lasting tribute to St Ives’ seafaring past.
