The Church is a Piers St Aubyn designed Victorian building constructed on the outskirts of St Ives to service a growing population. It sits on an elevated site with an iconic tower not typical of the County. A long tarmac drive accesses the Church with nicely laid out grassed lawns and mature trees. There is parking to the rear (north east) and a single storey hall with associated facilities.

Sunday September 11 (7.30pm) – IAN MACDONALD presents The Funny Thing About Laughter

It was no joke last year when a positive Covid test forced comedian and amateur gelotologist Ian Macdonald to cancel his St Ives September Festival show at St John’s In The Fields Church.
But Ian will be back this year to share his adventures and mishaps in the world of stand-up comedy, and the surprising, liberating discovery he made about laughter along the way in a joyous fun playful show that celebrates, explores and enables laughter.
Ian Macdonald is a huge fan of laughter, pursuing this mainly as a Stand-Up Comedian, but he also runs laughter workshops, teaches comedy, and regularly speaks on well-being and laughter.
He has been performing since he made 400 vicars laugh (at the same time!) and realised that Stand Up Comedy was the mid-life crisis he was searching for. Delivering his own brand of cheerful incredulity, he has been described as ‘warm’, ‘full of heart’ and ‘very very funny.’
An evening celebrating laughter, and how we all might find a little more of it in our lives. Click here to BOOK TICKETS
