St Ives September Festival

HUGE THANKS FROM THE 2023 ST IVES SEPTEMBER FESTIVAL . . .

. . . to everyone who came to this year’s Festival to take part or to watch.
All the performers and artists who made this year’s 15 days of music and arts so special, the event organisers at the various venues all over town, the Festival volunteers, the people who sold tickets and, especially, the thousands of people who bought them.
Not forgetting all the performers who took part in two sensational Saturdays of street entertainment and all the people who turned out to watch.

We hope you all had a great time!

THE ST IVES SEPTEMBER FESTIVAL NEEDS YOU!

More than 250 events which made up this year’s St Ives September Festival were co-ordinated by a main organising committee of just five people – and that number needs to increase if the Festival is to continue, attract more innovative events and progress in its current form.
Some good people, who had provided many years of hard work and experience, left the volunteer-run Festival in the aftermath of the Covid lockdown and the organisers would love to hear from anyone wishing to join the Festival team. Particularly enthusiastic people with WordPress website skills – or a desire to learn – social media flair or ideas they would like to bring to the Festival and develop.
“We are very flexible, there are no set times or hours and you can basically contribute and work on what appeals to you,” is the message from the Festival. Interested? Email us at info@stivesseptemberfestival.co.uk tell us what you can offer and we’ll get back to you.”

NEXT YEAR’S SEPTEMBER FESTIVAL will inevitably have a “different” look  with The Guildhall expected to be closed until the Spring of 2025 for a major renovation project.
Without our largest venue we unfortunately won’t have the audience capacity and the financial clout to bring the big names like Lindisfarne, The Three Degrees and Show Of Hands, who have all sold out The Guildhall over the last two years, to St Ives.
But the temporary enforced change in the Festival’s could mean bigger audiences and more attention for some of the rising stars so keen to step into the Festival spotlight and appear at the many smaller venues all over town.
These are, however, exciting times at The Guildhall and the short-term loss of the venue will hopefully provide the town – and the St Ives September Festival – with a much-improved facility, with a bigger audience capacity, for years to come.

A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

Councillor Johnnie Wells, Mayor of St Ives, writes:
“Yet again the September Festival has filled St Ives with some late summer music, arts and general coming togetherness! A huge thank-you to all the volunteers and organisers of all the events.”
Talking about the Guildhall project, he added: ““It’s pretty exciting to see what the future holds for this amazing space.”
