Falun Gong
Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa) is a traditional Chinese self-cultivation practice. It improves mental and physical wellbeing through meditation exercises and developing one’s character, according to Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. See Introduction to Falun Gong here:

All ages welcome.  We will set up lotus flower making workshop along side the meditation, so that children can be entertained while mums and dads are meditating.

Needle Felting
Come and learn how to create wonderful pictures and three dimensional objects using wool and simple needle felting techniques. Spaces limited to 12.

Friday 15th

Iyengar Yoga Class with Ann Nicol
Suitable for all. Work with your body to improve balance, coordination, stability, strength and relaxation skills. Please wear stretchy/loose clothing and bring a sticky mat and a blanket. Some equipment is available for loan: please make a small donation to library funds if you borrow any. Maximum capacity 12.

Poet Arthur Caddick
Rod Humphries talks about writer Arthur Caddick. Although mainly remembered as a poet Caddick wrote a very good novel: Respectable Persons, published in 1940. Donations to FOSIL (Friends of St Ives Library).

Talk: On The Edge: Atlantic Cornwall and Beyond
Join Lonely Planet author and topographical writer, Des Hannigan, on a rollercoaster ride into the hidden
corners of the Cornish cliffs and across the Cornish sea towards more distant destinations. Memoir, verse and photography fuel the journey; a head for heights and seasick tablets are not required.

The Postman Poet
He was a humble postman whose poems, written while walking the rural lanes of North Devon on his daily round in the mid-19th Century, won support from the biggest literary names of the day. He is now the subject of Liz Shakespeare’s novel ‘The Postman Poet’. Spaces limited to 30.

Create flower brooches using fabric and simple hand stitching. All materials provided. Spaces limited to 12.

A Writer’s Feeling for Snow
Local author Frank Pickering, presenting and signing his novel ‘Ice’, a story of love, loss and horror set high in the Swiss Alps. When Tom Shepherd returns to the ski resort where his wife disappeared 5 years before, he is unaware of the dark force about to be unleashed. Spaces limited to 30.
